Hessonite (Gomed) is a honey-coloured Grossular gemstone of the Garnet mineral family. Its shades vary from yellow and reddish-brown to orange. Astrologically, Hessonite is Rahu’s gemstone worn like a protection shield against difficulties. Rahu is the northern lunar node and is called the Dragon’s Head. It is one of the two shadow planets which causes an eclipse while the other is Ketu.
